Western Cape officially past fourth wave peak

The Western Cape Department of Health says the province is officially past the peak of the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The department says that although cases of Covid-19 during the recent peak were higher, than those in the second and third peaks, the number of hospital admissions was less than before.

A 64% decrease in hospital admissions was recorded in the fourth peak, compared to previous peaks.
