Western Cape needs to vaccinate a further 3-million residents to achieve 70% herd immunity target

Published on

The Western Cape Health Department says it still needs to vaccinate a further more than 3-million residents to achieve the province’s herd immunity target of 70%.

Chief of Operations, Dr Saadiq Kariem says there are around 3.1-million residents, over 18 years of age, that still need to receive at least one dose of the covid-19 injection.

Kariem says more than 2.5-million doses of vaccine had, to date, been administered across the province.
