The newly-upgraded Baden Powell Drive was officially re-opened this morning, with Western Transport MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela, saying that the project has, to date, created hundreds of jobs for local residents.
The upgrade on this important arterial-road-way, at a cost of R283-million, kicked off in April of 2018.
Madikizela says the project was scheduled to have been completed in April this year already, but was delayed by the covid-19 pandemic and national lockdown.
