According to the Sowetan, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga made the announcement during a presentation to the Portfolio Committee on Basic Education. Motshekga says the plan is to keep the Grade 12 pupils in class for as long as possible.
The Department of Basic Education has scrapped mid-year exams for matric pupils to allow time to “cover” the years’ curriculum.
