
Employment & Labour Minister, Thulas Nxesi says the Unemployment Insurance Fund is in talks to find funds to assist those, who may have lost their jobs due to the newly-announced level 4 lockdown restrictions.
These new restrictions, which came in effect on Monday, will effect mainly those employed in the hospitality and alcohol sectors.
Nxesi says during the pandemic the Covid-19 TERS benefit-scheme distributed R 60-billion in financial aid to laid-off workers.
He says the extension would be discussed at Nedlac this week.

Police Minister Bheki Cele says members of the SA police force will, from 5 July, receive their Covid-19 vaccination.
The Minister says the virus has, to date, claimed the lives of 666 police-force members.
Cele says the police will continue to see to it that residents continue to adhere to the adjusted level 4 lockdown regulations.
