Premier Alan Winde has urged residents to continue to adhere to the newly-announced level three lockdown regulations, to avoid a further spread of covid-19.

Speaking during the weekly digicon yesterday, he said it will now be a province-wide effort to keep the spread of the virus to a minimum.

He says with the province that has now nearing the peak of its third-wave of the pandemic, pressure on health-care systems should be kept to a minimum.

Winde says the Western Cape will, in the next 2 weeks, again see a significant influx of vaccine doses which will see the current vaccine constraint soon becoming something of the past.

He says focus will, for now, be on vaccinating those in vulnerable groups with their first and second doses.
