Minister Joe Phaahla says upgrades to the EVDS-platform now allows people to now choose when and where to get their injection.
The minister says he hopes the changes, made to the Electronic Vaccination Data System, will encourage more South Africans to register for and receive their covid-19-injection.
South Africans can now also schedule their appointments, instead of waiting to be assigned a vaccination-slot.

National Government says it is encouraged by the more than 2-million South Africans that have already registered for their Covid-19 vaccination.
Acting Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, in a post-Parliamentary briefing said this shows the commitment of citizens to help the country achieve herd-immunity.
Ntshavheni encouraged those over 60, who are eligible for their injection, and who have not yet registered, to do so as soon as they can.

Business lobby-group, Business for South Africa (B4SA) says it has intensified its efforts – in collaboration with Government and other role-players – to boost the number of pensioners who have registered for their Covid-19 vaccine.
The group says it is concerned with the large numbers of pensioners who have not yet registered for their Covi-19 vaccination.
Convenor of B4SA, Cas Coovadia says only about 1.6-million of the country’s 5.4-million pensioners have registered for their injection.
Coovadia says it is especially important for pensioners, with underlying medical conditions, to get vaccinated before the winter season arrives.
