Eskom says residents can look forward to fewer power interruptions, with loadshedding that may be limited to stages one and two this weekend.
Stage 3 loadshedding is currently in place for Eskom-supplied customers until midnight tonight.
Eskom spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha says this alleviation in loadshedding intensity was brought about by more generation units being returned to the national grid.
He says the situation may also improve further leading to a much better outlook next week.
