The protection of wild, endangered Western Cape seabirds have gotten a further boost, with the news that a bird ranger will now be permanently stationed on Dyer Island.

The ranger’s appointment comes after a generous financial donation by the Disney Conservation Fund.

Conservation Manager at the Dyer Island Conservation Fund, Trudi Malan, says the ranger will, on a daily basis, monitor the safety and health of the island’s resident seabirds.

She says this would greatly help in the conservation of endangered bird species on the island.
