Fashion is constantly changing, and staying the same… Offices are also changing – some are still very formal corporate and some are a little more relaxed.
Here are 5 refreshing outfit formulas that work every time –adapt them to the dress code your office has:
1. Trousers and sneakers. There is a big difference between gym takkies and sneakers. I’m talking fashion sneakers as opposed to your gym shoes. Why it works with trousers (and not jeans) is it still keeps it somewhat corporate, with an element of casual. Keep the rest of your outfit crisp and neat, so you won’t run the risk of looking sloppy.
2. Powersuit and powerful colours. The power suit is nothing new, but these days it can be way more colourful and exciting. Opt for bright colours, like a royal blue or even a magenta pink! If you’re up for it, keep the fun going with a pair of heels in a contrasting jewel tone. 3. The white shirt and bold accessories: The white shirt is a wardrobe staple and to really make it look extra fashionable – team the white shirt with big earrings, or a chunky necklace. 4. Oversized Blazer and a white tee-shirt: Find an oversize blazer (just make sure it’s not so big you feel like you’re playing dress up in your husband’s closet) and reach for your trusty white T-shirt. Finish off the look with a pair of straight or slim pants and keep your footwear minimal. Voilà! You’ll look polished, trend-forward and ready to do your job. 5. Monochrome and a play on texture: A white (or black or gray or blue) dress is easy enough to throw on from Monday to Friday. But keep things interesting with a little tweed or fringe, and finish off your outfit by adding a slew of accessories all in the same shade—from earrings to bags to shoes. Once you figure out this one-tone wonder, it’ll become a favourite go-to.
